1st, the brief of stainless steel industry

        Stainless steel refers to steel that is resistant to weak corrosive media such as air, steam, water, and chemically etched media such as acid, alkali, salt, etc., also known as stainless acid-resistant steel. In practical applications, steel that is resistant to weak corrosive media is often referred to as stainless steel, while steel that is resistant to chemical media is referred to as acid-resistant steel. Due to the difference in chemical composition between the two, the former is not necessarily resistant to chemical media corrosion, while the latter generally has rust. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel depends on the alloying elements contained in the steel, chromium is added to the steel matrix, and corrosion resistance and processing performance are further improved by adding nickel, molybdenum or the like.

        The upstream and downstream industrial chain of stainless steel is relatively long. The upstream is mainly metal materials such as iron ore, scrap steel and inconel. The downstream of stainless steel is mainly used for specific applications of various stainless steel products in petrochemical, energy and transportation industries. China is a country with extremely scarce resources such as chromium and nickel, which are the main raw materials for stainless steel. The high nickel price before the financial crisis forced China's stainless steel industry to start a difficult exploration of diversification of raw materials. By developing chromium-manganese and pure-chromium stainless steel, which are almost free of nickel, stainless steel crude steel has been promoted to form three series of 200 series, 300 series and 400 series, and many subdivision grades have been developed on this basis. The development and research of various series of stainless steel not only meets the material needs of stainless steel processed products, but also enriches the raw material requirements of stainless steel casting and forging products. No matter the mobile phone casing or the automobile exhaust pipe, stainless steel is inseparable. China has formed a complete stainless steel industrial system.

2nd. Analysis of stainless steel import and export data in the first quarter of 2019

        In the first quarter of 2019, China imported 451,000 tons of stainless steel, including 134,000 tons in January, and 108,600 tons in February, and 208,400 tons in March, which was 255,100 tons less than the first quarter of 2018, a decrease of 35.21%;

        In the first quarter of 2.2019, the country exported 794,500 tons of stainless steel, including 319,600 tons in January, 182,600 tons in February, and 292,300 tons in March, a decrease of 289,000 tons and a decrease of 26.67%.

3rd. Net exports of 343,500 tons in the first quarter of 2019

        The number of stainless steel imports and exports showed a downward trend. In 2010, China officially achieved net export of stainless steel, and the number of net exports continued to increase, from 205,500 tons in 2010 to 2,772,000 tons in 2017, with an average annual compound growth rate of 45.02%.

        The stainless steel industry is entering the stage of industrial upgrading under the impetus of new technologies. In the past ten years, the development of international stainless steel product manufacturing technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, and the market demand for products has been changing with each passing day. Customers have put forward higher requirements in terms of product function, energy saving and design. The concept of safety, energy saving and low carbon makes the stainless steel products change from simple applicability to functionalization, intelligence and fashion. The product renewal cycle is obviously accelerated, and the variety demand is diversified.
